I am concerned about my WA4. I’m still not sure how it should be laid out, and I don’t yet have a focus for my project. I have made several appointments for interviews, but do not know what would be pertinent to ask. A few ideas for interview prompts I have considered include; “Where did you get your information about sororities?”, “Which executive or chair position would you most want to hold and why?”, “Before pledging, did you know about the time and financial commitments that you would experience?”, “About how many (what percentage) of the external events have you participated in? (e.g. mixers, A-Phi Thanksgiving/Spaghetti Dinner, philanthropic activities, Kappa Delta Sing-Song, intramurals, or COR parties, etc.)”, and “What are your opinions on communication within the sorority?” As I stated earlier, I hope the answers I receive to questions such as these present to me a direction in which to focus my research. I have field notes, the survey responses, artifacts and symbols, and personal observation on my side, it’s just simply not clear on which aspect I should focus my attentions at this point. As the final deadline draws nearer, I hope an answer is near in sight.
Another question I have involves the final presentations. If I haven’t obtained either audio or video multimedia from my research, how should I best present my material? I don’t want it to turn out to be a monotonous speech, so I would appreciate any ideas on what I could use as a visual aid. Maybe a poster board? Perhaps my sorority’s letters and other symbols/artifacts I’ve obtained throughout the research process? Suggestions are welcome.
